UPSR 2017 EXAMINATION FORMAT
PAPER
1: There are 2
sections in Paper 1, called Section A and Section B.
SECTION A
consists of Questions 1 - 25: Total Marks given are 20 marks.
- Questions 1 – 6 are questions on grammar, idioms or proverbs
- Questions 7 – 9 are based on a short passage / rational cloze
- Questions 10 – 11 are questions on synonyms, antonyms and punctuation
- Questions 12 – 15 are questions based on a given picture / graphical rational cloze
- Questions 16 – 20 are Objective questions on a passageSECTION B consists of Questions 21 - 25: Total Marks given are 30 marks.
- Question 21 has 3 pictures (a,b and c) where students have to provide acceptable responses
- Questions 22 has 5 questions (a – e): Students have to tick the correct answer for a and b and answer Subjective questions for c to e. Please note that ‘HOTS (higher order thinking skills)’ questions are tested d and e.
- Questions 23 is the same as Question 22
- Question 24 (a + b) and 25 ( a, b + c) are based on the same passage. For question 24, student need to tick the correct answer whereas for question 25, they need to answer ‘HOTS (higher order thinking skills)’ questions for b and c.PAPER 2: There are 3 sections in Paper 2, called Section A, Section B and Section C
- SECTION A carries 10 marks. Students have to transfer information from the given picture as answers.
- SECTION B carries 15 marks. Students have to write down 3 subjective answers.
- There are 2 questions for SECTION C, namely Question 1 and Question 2. Students need to answer 1 question only. Each question carries 25 marks. They have to write a composition of no fewer than 80 words and not more than 100 words.All Section Marks add up to 100 marks
